For this reason, the birth of Rufino Solano were in the same place and almost identical birth date on which the brave and legendary chief Cipriano Catriel, this close relationship is maintained until there was the tragic death of the chief, on 19 November 1874. A year before that tragic event, they were seen fighting side by side against a common enemy in the memorable Battle of San Carlos, in the present town of Bolivar. Rufino Solano When he turned 18 he became a "soldier" at Fort Estomba (near Tapalqué) and, in turn, Cipriano Catriel and was 30 years old when he finally took command of his people, we must also remember that this chief spoke Castilian and was well integrated into society azulene, which alternated his residence to the house in the Arroyo de Nieva.

In the same way, Rufino Solano learned the native language, to slide along the endless and random extensions and a host of skills deemed friends of his childhood and youth. Of them also knew the value of friendship and being true to his word, we can say more than "linguist", thanks to its deep understanding of the soul of the Indian, Rufino Solano was a "almaraz" I there a big difference .

These particular conditions and their considerable knowledge, enabled him to master Rufino later Solano approaching, stay and then withdraw from the awnings of the most lofty and well-known chiefs, agreeing with them treaties of peace and well being and bringing captives from both sides. Were countless number of people who regained their freedom and their lives saved thanks to this "brother captain" and a friend of all.
